National Health Center Week August 8-14

Join us as we celebrate National Health Center Week 2021 from August 8th-14th to raise awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s health centers over the past five decades. Community health centers, like Lincoln, serve as a beacon of strength, service, and care in our communities. This year, National Health Center Week honors those front-line providers, staff, and patients who lost their lives during the COVID-19 pandemic. From the very beginning of the crisis, Community health centers began finding innovative ways to provide preventative and primary care to their patients. We kept our staff and patients safe through social distancing, masks, and telehealth. Lincoln never closed or reduced hours during the pandemic and provided care to our most at-risk citizens, including free COVID-19 testing and vaccinations. To make a gift, use the “Donate” button at the top of this page.

Legacy Luncheon Wrap-up

Thank you to everyone who participated in the LCHCF Ninth Annual Legacy Award Virtual Luncheon on May 7th. This was the largest grossing luncheon to date, with over $75,000 raised. Although we could not gather in person, we were treated to wonderful musical performances by Nnenna Freelon, Lois Deloatch and Ernest Turner, and John Brown. We heard the story of Lincoln’s early years by Eileen Watts Welch, daughter of Lincoln’s founder Dr. Charles D. Watts. We also had remarks from Congressman David Price, Chancellor Dr. Eugene Washington, County Commissioner and Chair Brenda Howerton, and Mayor Steve Schewel. There was a video of Lincoln employees who spoke passionately about their work at Lincoln, and comments from CEO Philip Harewood and Lincoln Board Chair Dr. Rosemary Jackson. To celebrate Lincoln’s 50th anniversary, LCHCF Board Chair Rev. Dr. Michael Page announced a $50,000 gift from the Foundation to Lincoln. We could not do this without the support of our many sponsors and donors. Please take a minute to view the sponsor list on the home page. Donations are accepted year-round using the “donate” link above. More information on our annual meeting will be announced this fall.
