Community Health Centers (CHC’s) are ramping up efforts to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic. Almost half (44 percent) of health centers recently surveyed have walk-up or drive-through testing for COVID-19 and 82 percent of health centers have the ability to test patients. Some 56,000 tests were conducted in the past week, and 9,300 patients tested positive for the virus. Health center workers have also been put at risk for COVID-19 infection — 1381 have tested positive. The findings demonstrate the resilience and adaptability of CHC’s working under a host of challenges as front line responders to the pandemic. Please thank our healthcare heroes who are on the front line of the COVID-19 response, and to the PPEople Brigade of Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Durham for donating face shields. From everyone at the Lincoln Community Health Center Foundation please stay safe and follow community health guidelines.
